Appearance

The Aquarium is shown with two distinct areas in Gone Fishing:

  • Interior Exhibits: The main area features massive tanks filled with a vibrant variety of fish and lush aquatic plants. Even the sharks make an appearance, much to Paulo's delight (and Lucy's horror)![1]
  • Seal Feeding Area: An outdoor section where visitors can watch seal feedings, complete with a small pool and a platform from which selected volunteers can participate in feeding the animals.[2]

Key events

  • Uncovering Lucy's Aquaphobia: This field trip marks the first mention of Lucy's aquaphobia in the series. While the exact origins remain a mystery, it's hinted that Mike is somehow involved. Lucy's discomfort around the aquarium tanks is palpable, and Paulo's shark-teasing antics certainly don't help matters![3]
  • Paulo's Seal-y Shenanigans: Never one to miss a chance for mischief, Paulo volunteers to feed the seals during the outdoor show. But this clever kitty gets a taste of his own medicine when his attempt to trick the seal backfires spectacularly, landing him in the water and sending poor Lucy into a fresh wave of aquatic anxiety![4]
  • Mike to the Rescue: As Lucy's distress reaches a boiling point, Mike steps in to offer some much-needed comfort. It's a sweet moment that showcases their special bond... but Daisy's not exactly thrilled to see her "Mikie" playing the knight in shining armor for another damsel.[5]
