Significant events

Matt is first seen in Happy Hour, where he celebrates drinks arriving to Rachel's party, and encourages the gang to dance with him at the party.

Later in Take Heart, Paulo suspects that Rachel and Matt are an item, and comes up with a scheme with Daisy to win back Rachel's affections. Rachel reveals to Paulo that Matt is in fact, gay.

In Total Recall, Matt joins Rachel, Paulo, Jessica, Jordan, and Tiff on a limo ride to Junior prom. He insists that Paulo drive them all back after prom. With Paulo driving Matt and Jordan, they get in a car accident where Matt ends up with a minimum amount of injuries.

In Boy Toy, Matt offers Paulo to join him and Rachel on a beach vacation, to which Paulo responds rudely to due to Matt's sexual orientation.

During the trip, in Golden Hour, Matt tries to be friendly with Paulo multiple times, to be constantly rebuffed. Eventually, Paulo yells at Matt, accusing him of hitting on Paulo. Matt informs Paulo that he doesn't see Paulo that way, and Paulo breaks down in tears over guilt over how he's been treating Matt. Paulo ends the night hugging Matt, "Testing something out."

In Fair Game, Paulo helps Matt find out if his crush, Jordan, is also gay. Paulo is unhappy to report back to Matt that Jordan is straight, and compliments Matt on his positivity, even when things look bleak for him. This prompts Matt to break down in tears. He comments that it is a lot harder than anyone thinks, and he is scared of the future and if he will even find anyone out there for him. Paulo holds Matt and cries along with him, reassuring him that he's going to find an amazing guy who is leagues better than Jordan.
