A character originating from the old version of Bittersweet Candy Bowl, Bill was the resident bully who was meant to be a more prominent character. In the modern version of the comic, however, his acts of meanness are in smaller doses - candy-corn sized doses, if you will - when he poisons Mike with sleeping pills in Mischief Night. He is a student at Roseville High School, and was most recently seen losing to Lucy in a dodgeball game in Unspoken Rule.

His notable traits are his ears, which point upward to resemble devil horns.

She hastily tries to navigate explaining Paulo's maternal trauma to a confused class.

A dog with a thick mustache and a jogging suit, Gym Teacher teaches physical education at Roseville Middle School, and is less popular than his high school counterpart. He holds a significant level of disdain for his students, in particular David, whom he has to keep from maiming another student in Field Day. He is very direct with his students; when he explains the new features of the pool in Carry On and the reasoning behind it, he says point blank that "the school doesn't want to pay a cent for any idiotic behavior." That level of directness never fades, as he tells the students he won't miss them "at all" and a hope that the high school gym teacher would be able to beat them in Farewell, Middle School.

She is kind but scatterbrained, as she doesn't know the name of any of the events in Field Day except for the race.

If there's anything to note about her, it's that she loves to assign essays, presentations and other long, involved assignments no matter the time of year.

He is more interested in cleaning concepts rather than tangible messes, however; when Mike insists he is not "angsting," the janitor excitedly whacks Mike in the head with a mop in order to clean said "angst."

A cat with stripes on his head, a suit and a bow tie, Math Teacher works at Roseville High School as the math teacher for Mike and David during their freshman year. He is harsh on his students, but it is born from a faith in them, as he claims he'll get all of them into calculus by the end of the year. By Midterm Time, his goal shifted to at least assuring no one dropped down to Algeom. He has a short temper; having to be held back by Mike when David says math isn't important, only to then state his desire to be an astronaut.

It is unknown what he teaches, but he is most notable for simply giving up in getting the class's attention in Take Heart, tossing papers in the air and groaning "oh what the hell ever."

Her lack of involvement with the cast is acknowledged in Farewell, Middle School, where she asks point blank "Do I know you kids?"

"Albert" is a character in Jessica's play in Method Acting. The younger brother of Morris, Albert is a cat with short hair and some bad luck. To punish Morris for not wanting to evict from his house, Teagan orders Jayden to break Albert’s leg, rendering him unable to play baseball.

Albert is meant to represent Rachel’s younger brother, Aaron, and how Roger broke his arm during the events of Pillow Talk, down to the detail of Aaron's inability to play soccer from the injury.

"Juniper Lumin" is the lead character in Jessica's play in Method Acting. A brown dog with short hair, Juniper is a junior attorney and investigative reporter whose main goal is to uncover the corruption that lurks in the philanthropic Thatchit family, particularly of its poster girl, Teagan Thatchit. When Teagan gets the whole town to think Juniper is a sleaze with the snap of a finger, Juniper thinks her career is over until Misty Beacon comes along.

Juniper is based off of Jessica, subconsciously or otherwise, and her arc is a parallel of Tess spreading false rumors around Roseville High of Jessica's promiscuity.

Inspired by Juniper, Misty comes to her role model's aide at her lowest moment to help overturn the Thatchits - and perhaps find love along the way.

Misty is meant to be a "flawless" interpretation of Jessica's girlfriend, Madison... a connection Madison herself did not make.

He blames himself for everything wrong that happens, including "being poor."

Morris is meant to be an offensive take on Matt, and his tendency to be a "doormat."

"Rina" is a character in Jessica's play in Method Acting. The best friend of Juniper Lumin, Rina loves boys, and won't let Juniper (nor the audience) forget for even a moment. She likes to live frivolously and sees Juniper's job as a means for hot gossip. She believes all problems can be solved by showing some leg; when Juniper's reputation is ruined, Rina simply suggests to sleep with the police department.

Rina is a cruel caricature of Rachel and her own promiscuity, being reduced to only those traits in the play.

"Teagan Thatchit"

"Teagan Thachit" is the antagonist of Jessica's play in Method Acting played by a drama club member named Marcie. Teagan is the daughter of the prestigious Thachits, a charitable family who frequently donates to good causes, only to get said money from evicting regular citizens and buying the silence of authority. When Juniper tries to catch her red-handed, Teagan gets her lackey to ruin her reputation.

She is a hyperbolic representation of Tess from her bullying days, specifically when Tess spread rumors about Jessica to punish her. She is also partially based of Tiff, which Jessica admits to, having cast Marcie for the role because her hair reminded Jessica of Tiff's hairstyle.

Alegria is a health class baby doll that was given to Mike and Daisy to "raise" by Sex-Ed Teacher in The Burden of Parenthood. Looking like he is in constant agony, Alegria's got a face only a Paulo could love; in fact, Paulo took "raising" Alegria when Mike couldn't. Alegria is brought up again in Unrequited, when Daisy explains to Tess how Paulo took to Alegria during the assignment.

Outside of the comic, Alegria is a Discord bot that alerts users when a new page of the comic has been posted or new art has been submitted to Candybooru. His visage has been immortalized into a Discord emoji.

Aqua/"Magical Girl Lucy"

Aqua, otherwise colloquially known as "Magical Girl Lucy", is a version of Lucy that predates modern Bittersweet Candy Bowl. In Aqua's version of the comic, she has to navigate the world with magical powers, and characters we know as friends in the modern rendition were enemies! She is depicted with a star pendant in lieu of her iconic pink bow, and later grows out her hair in a magical girl transformation.

There is not much left of Aqua on the main website, let alone the comic - her claims to fame now are her cameo appearance in Out of the Frame and her own BCI, Magical Girl Redux.

In Witch Hunt, Sue asks where Lucy's pets are, as they had not returned alongside Lucy. Lucy then reveals that she and her aunt found Chirpy's mother while Lucy was away, and that Chirpy also had a twin brother. It's insinuated that Chirpy left with her mother.

If this black bird is familiar to you, chances are you've met him on Bittersweet Candy Bowl's 404 page. According to the FAQ: "In the early days, when Veronica made a mistake she’d scribble over it, draw a bird, and leave him in the scene."

During the Omnibus overhaul, most incidental appearances of Error would be removed. In his story debut, Helping Hands, he is hit by a car and rescued by Paulo and Daisy. Not knowing how to care for animals, they leave him in Lucy's care. Once Error heals, he flies away, but not without leaving behind a nest he made for Paulo and Daisy's "offspring" (to their horror)!

She has severe dyslexia; when the movie is then changed to the subtitled version, she leaves the showing. Readers lamented Hannah being unable to see the movie, to the point where one of the winning mini-comic prompts from Patreon was of Hannah happily watched the dubbed film after torrenting it.

She is furious when her conclusion is incorrect, and threatens Mike on live TV... which Lily seems unaffected by.

A dog with a beat-up suit and thin, curly mustache, the scam artist resides in Maraschino City. In Hot Pursuit, he tries to get Mike and Lucy to buy a purse and beauty kit, and will not leave the two alone until they humor him. Irritated, Mike suggests buying something if it means leaving them alone, only to discover he had fished these items from a nearby trash can. Lucy beats him up after an impromptu "makeover" and demands directions to Maraschino City. Perhaps he had changed his ways, as he was never seen again (in the comic).

A brown cat with multi-color dyed hair, polka-dotted scarf, and a name literally lifted from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley, he debuts in the now defunct Do Ask, Do Tell as a flamboyant, woman-hating gay teen who is aggressive with his crush on Mike.

As the comic began to do away with "joke characters" like Carson, he was given an improper sendoff in a deleted scene from Mischief Night. After the group discovers an abandoned house, Carson drags Mike inside with him to have a "private moment", only to fall through the rotted flooring into a dark hole. The cast ponder what to do for a moment, then leave Carson behind to die.

Carter was a fan character created by Evarion to add to the (at the time) increasing list of characters enamored with Lucy. A cat with a multi-colored, blobby body and an emoticon face, a visit to his home in Box of Tricks reveals he has a mother, father, and grandfather who look just as strange as him.

Carter's raison d'etre is that he loves Lucy. In the Volume One version of Out of the Frame, he goes as far as suggesting he'd kill for her. The joke was never taken very seriously; in the now deleted April Fool's chapter In the End, Lucy solves her relationship woes by running in the rain to meet Carter.

Like Carson, he was removed from the comic after the Omnibus version, but not before meeting his demise at the hand (rather, foot) of Lucy in a deleted page of Mischief Night.

A fan character created by Shinoka, Kenji is the baby brother of Kizuna, and the resemblance is clear. He was a gag character in a similar vein to the pets; the explanation from Kizuna was that he would sneak into her backpack. In the Volume One version of Wardrobe Malfunction, Kizuna used Mike's scarf to wipe Kenji's pee - this was replaced by Sue wiping her spilled milk with Mike's scarf in the Omnibus version. Kenji was removed from the comic in the Omnibus update.

Kizuna was a fancharacter created by Shinoka who was most prominent in the Volume One version of the comic. She was a yellow dog with a striped head, belt, headphones, dangling earrings, a bracelet and two anklets. According to an author comment, she was initially drawn by Shinoka with a bandage over her eye, which was incorporated into Field Day instead of being an ever-present design choice.

One of her most notable traits was her misguided love for David, and her refusal to give up despite David's own infatuation with Flower Girl and his frequent forgetting of Kizuna herself. She shares a dance with him in the original Farewell, Middle School, accidentally throwing him out the window. While she never laid a hand on Flower Girl, Kizuna threw a safe at Katie when she flirted with David in Moving On. She also had a love for baking, making a whole cake for David in Onwards to Adventure.

Kizuna was also known for being incredibly clumsy; she is frequently injured in Field Day after teaming up with Mike and Lucy. When Kizuna wants to participate in David's events, Mike and Lucy predict every way it could go horribly wrong and keep her from doing so. In Carry On, she lacked the foresight to not bring her headphones into the pool and electrocuted herself.

Kizuna's own backstory would end up becoming more involved and less fitting for the comic, gaining an arm scar in Arrival that she is denied explaining by David (and Veronica in an author comment). Shinoka would eventually request Kizuna be written out of the story, and her last appearance was in a now deleted version of Unrequited, which was where the comic buffer was at the time of the request. Her sudden removal shocked fans, which was deterred by censoring her name on the website and booru, auto-correct her name to the phrase "getting ****** in the ***" on the forum, and even a single-page chapter in the comic killing her off, Sayonara, Kizuna the Dog. Her name can now be typed without a censor, and her death comic has been moved to Candybooru.

She was outlasted by Tess and McCain, having been written out of the story as of the Omnibus; any chapter where she was too prominent had her replaced by another character, such as Katie in Field Day and Carry On, Flower Girl in Farewell, Middle School, and Amaya (sometimes David) in the Silvershore arc.

A black cat with a bell collar, Larken was a fancharacter created by Gabriel Kaxbe. He was a loner who liked snowglobes.

In the comic proper, he served mainly as a background character to fill in certain scenes. He fell victim to the "black cat" superstition in universe, as David runs away from him in the Volume One version of Out of the Frame. He was removed from the comic in the Omnibus version.

Liam was a fancharacter created by Toastyjester, easily spotted by his green and black striped sweater and dark hair. He was a love interest of Lucy with a tragic past, and was very popular on Candybooru and with Veronica herself.

He was a recurring background character, and at one point had a BCI chapter dedicated to him, but no time was given for his own story in the comic proper. He was removed in the Omnibus version of the comic. For viewers longing for him to have suffered death upon his removal like most other fan characters, perhaps this Candybooru-exclusive from Veronica would satisfy them.

Mae was a fan character created by Green-Chi. Via her profile on Candybooru by her creator, she was a left-handed Birman cat with long hair and glasses who hates being touched and has a tendency to steal things.

Within the comic, she is a recurring background character who is mostly silent. She uses her bag to communicate, notably using it to signal Paulo's "character development" in the Volume One version of A Different Side. She is removed from the comic in the Omnibus version, being replaced by Amaya in the aforementioned scene.

Raindrop

Rin was a fan character created by Shinoka. An unusual looking dog with long ears and a coin on her forehead, Rin was a six-year old introduced in the Volume One version of Out of the Frame who expressed her wish for Lucy to become her mother. She competes with Yashy over Lucy towards the end of the chapter, and Lucy is easily swayed by Rin. In the Volume One version of Invitation, she is confused that she's not invited to the vacation.

Given that she was six years old, there weren't many opportunities to include Rin in other chapters, and she was removed in the Omnibus version of the comic.

Wynn

A character by Shinoka, Wynn was a cat with bangs covering her eyes and a tragic, unfortunate life. In the Volume One version of Out of the Frame, Wynn spends most of her time weeping, and reveals her father murdered her mother in front of her. Sue tells Wynn "[she] can see why [Wynn's] always so sad," only for Wynn to blurt out "WELL I CAN'T I'M BLIND!!!" She was removed in the Omnibus version of the comic.

Yashika
