Another Date is a non-canon Bittersweet Club International-exclusive comic, one of two what-if offshoots branching out of Date Night. This one asks what would have happened if Paulo had won the footrace, and with it a movie date with James.
Partial synopsis
The comic resumes the race from Date Night. The first runner to reach the streetlamp gets to take James to the zombie movie.[1] Mike leads while Paulo despairs behind him (“FOR FUCKS SAKE WHY DID I EVEN THINK I HAD A CHANCE!!”).[2] Mike glances back just as Paulo, eyes still shut, catches up. Paulo passes him and crashes headfirst into the streetlamp.[3]
Paulo sits dazed as Mike leans close and whispers “Good luck..”. Mike then loudly claims he nearly won, hiding that he lost deliberately.[4] James rushes over, marvels at Paulo’s speed and pulls him up.[5] They blush and look away before agreeing to meet the next day.[6]
Daisy watches with glassy eyes and stops David when he turns angrily toward Mike.[3] Being happy for Paulo is going to take her a little while. As for Paulo, he spent the entire race convinced he never stood a chance. Nobody, least of all him, has any idea what he’ll do with a whole evening of actually getting what he wanted...
Character dynamics

- Paulo and James: The two work at Burger-Tron, where Paulo calls himself the incoming supervisor.[7] He has admitted to Daisy that he finds James attractive,[8] while James spent four months pursuing Mike.[9] Paulo now pursues James directly by racing for the date.
- Daisy and Paulo: In the main comic, Daisy watches the race with a pained expression.[10] In this offshoot, James asks if Paulo is interested in her. Paulo answers “Daisy? Oh, it’s nothing like that!” while Daisy walks away in tears.[11]
Trivia & observations
- James says “this is the first time I was chased.. I’m always the chaser.”[11] In Track Meet, Mike points out that James had stalked him for four months.[9]
- Paulo’s mid-race outburst on the first page matches his line from Date Night word for word.[2][10]
- In Model Girlfriend, Mike steers his kart into a wall so Sandy can win.[12] His “Man I was so close!” here closely echoes what he says after losing to Paulo at video games in Buddy System.[4][13]
Related chapters
- Date Night: David sets the race to the streetlamp, with a zombie-movie date for Paulo if he wins. Mike pulls ahead until David stops him in canon, but here he drops back on his own.
- Track Meet: James debuts here, and Paulo quietly admits to Daisy that he finds James “pretty.. good-looking.”
- Another Direction: The sibling offshoot released alongside this one and centred on Mike and James. The authors billed the two comics together as “Mames or Jaulo? You decide!”
