Two-time Love is a Bittersweet Club International-exclusive what-if comic in which Daisy appoints herself the mediator of Mike and Sandy’s crumbling long-distance relationship. As it turns out, she’s very, very good at getting close to people.
Partial synopsis
Daisy goes looking for a place to read on an autumn day. She recognizes the large tree on the hill as “Mikie’s tree..” but heads up anyway.[1] At the tree, she finds Mike just after an argument with Sandy. He tells Daisy that lately he feels as though he wants to fight with Sandy and wishes he had never learned about Francis.[2]
Daisy comforts Mike and offers to call Sandy herself.[3] Sandy initially assumes Daisy has called to condemn her.[4] She then admits that she has no one to talk to whenever Mike is unavailable—not her mother or even her hairdresser.[5] Daisy offers to be there for her again, and Sandy tearfully calls her “So nice..”[6]
She really does want to help. It’s just that helping isn’t the only thing she wants, and she hasn’t mentioned the rest to either of them yet...
Character dynamics

- Mike and Sandy: In Eternal Flame, Sandy admits her affair with Francis and breaks up with Mike before they reconcile.[7][8][9] In this what-if, they remain together. Mike tells Daisy that he sometimes wants to fight with Sandy and wishes he had never found out about Francis.[2]
- Daisy and Mike: In the main comic, Mike confides in Daisy about Sandy and Francis during a library conversation in Double Down.[10] Daisy urges him to do something for himself.[11] Here, he tells her that she is the only person he has really been able to discuss the crisis with.[3] Daisy already has a long-standing crush on Mike.[12]
- Daisy and Sandy: In the main comic, Mike tells Daisy that Sandy may not remember her because third grade was eight years earlier.[13] Here, Daisy reintroduces herself as someone Sandy knew in third grade, and Sandy responds with suspicion.[4] Sandy then admits how isolated she is.[5] Daisy offers support, and Sandy answers in tears.[6]
Trivia & observations
- Veronica and Oliver announced the comic with “Homewrecker! Homewrecker!” and described it as “the story of Daisy coming between Mike and Sandy. As she does. As she would.”
- The opening echoes the tree scene from Eternal Flame, where Lucy was waiting when Mike told her that Sandy had cheated.[14] Daisy instead finds Mike there just after an argument with Sandy and stays to comfort him.[2]
- Sandy says she has no one to talk to besides Mike—not her mother and not her hairdresser.[5] The hairdresser is Francis. Model Girlfriend introduced him as an apprentice who does Sandy’s hair, and Eternal Flame later revealed their affair.[15][7]
