Another Path is a non-canon Bittersweet Club International-exclusive comic that revisits Paulo's big decision in Another Shoulder; what would happen if Paulo didn't refuse Lucy's advance?
Synopsis
After hearing his best friend deny taking a chance with Lucy, David judges Paulo for not "sealing the deal" with her.[1] He is unimpressed with Paulo's insistence that sleeping with Lucy would have been a mistake, and remarks that it was a "once in a lifetime event." Even so, it gets Paulo to thinking...
In Paulo's imagination, he's taken back to the events of Another Shoulder, when he's denying Lucy's sexual advances. He declares how he cares about and even loves Lucy without the need to have sex with her, but becomes flustered when Lucy tells him to "show [her]" just how much. Paulo and Lucy's relationship will be challenged by this big step... will they be able to make it through these trials?
Trivia & observations
- Another Path was originally posted to the main website and was a part of the canonical archive, using the Paulo daydream framing to keep it "canonical". After being published in Volume Two, it was eventually moved to the BCI Members' Library in 2015.
- Its "Another X" name scheme went on to inspire the titles of multiple alternate universe stories. Stories specifically connected to this alternate universe of Paulo and Lucy's are labeled "Another Path."
