Introduction
When cookie sales require a partner, desperate times call for desperate measures! Molly's impulsive decision to snatch an unwilling accomplice off the street leads to an unexpected adventure involving mistaken identity, a nefarious kidnapper, and the beginnings of an unlikely friendship. Sometimes the worst sales pitch ever can still yield sweet results.
Synopsis
After being turned down by Abbey, who's busy preparing Daisy's surprise birthday party, Molly finds herself in a pickle—she needs a partner for Girl Scout cookie sales, and Jana won't let her go alone. Rather than admit defeat, Molly lies about having someone waiting for her outside. Once away from Jana's watchful eyes, panic sets in as she realizes she's been caught in her fib.
Salvation arrives in the form of an unsuspecting boy walking down the sidewalk. Without hesitation, Molly grabs the goggle-wearing stranger—introducing us to Justin—and drags him unwillingly into her cookie-selling scheme. Their partnership gets off to a rocky start as Justin protests being forced to carry Molly's heavy backpack of cookies while she smugly claims it's "cuz you're a boy!" Their first sales attempt goes disastrously wrong when a surly man opens his door, barely lets Molly get through her rehearsed pitch, and then suddenly yanks her inside, slamming the door shut.
Trivia & observations
- Molly's cryptic line "I've seen scarier" when Justin compliments her bravery hints at deeper, possibly darker experiences in her past—a subtle bit of character development tucked into what's otherwise a lighthearted adventure.
