Another Path is a non-canonical Bittersweet Club International comic that revisits Augustus's confrontation with Daisy in Love My Way. What if Abbey wasn't there to intervene?
Synopsis
Daisy has just been rejected by Mike at the carnival, and Augustus has cornered her; this time, with no Abbey to get in his way.[1] He kisses Daisy, who doesn't fight him off, and then pulls away, expecting her to say something.
What he didn't plan on was Daisy calling him out on his methods - why make a plan to win her over? Why not just talk to her? Daisy chastises Augustus for playing games, and when Augustus runs out of ways to defend his actions, he runs. Daisy's hunt to get answers from a tight-lipped, coat-wearing creep begins.
Trivia & observations
- Another Chance is, in fact, the second Bittersweet Club International comic using the "Another X" pattern.
- Published well before Escape Route (or even Ten Seconds to Midnight), this chapter provides our first glimpse of Augustus' difficult childhood and home life.
- Melanie gets a passing mention in this comic - her first (non-canonical) appearance!
- The comic was originally published at Top Web Comics as a daily voting incentive. It was later moved to the BCI Members' Library.
