Disaster Dominoes is a non-canon Bittersweet Club International-exclusive comic set in a what-if Roseville where everything that could go wrong already has. Mike is the last functional person left, and the school day ahead is not about to go easy on him.
Synopsis
Mike's morning starts pleasantly enough. He waves goodbye to Haley and Chris and finds Lucy waiting on the wall outside, hollow-eyed. How long has she been there? "A while."[1] The walk to school passes a graveyard and Molly's tombstone. Her death, Mike explains, put everyone on edge. At least Sandy is visiting next week.[2]
Homeroom fills in the rest of the picture. Daisy trembles at her desk, hating herself for having eaten anything at all today.[3] Paulo sweats through withdrawal, and David can barely get Paulo's name out. Their classmate Kizuna excuses herself from class carrying a very large knife.[4]

Some of it is still hidden, though. Abbey has been shadowing Daisy's every move, and his idea of protecting her is a violent one.[5] Mike, meanwhile, knows what Lucy is doing to her body, and keeps her gently at arm's length for Sandy's sake.[6]
From there, one crisis tips into the next. How many dominoes can fall before the final bell?
Character dynamics
- Mike and Lucy: At the time, canon Mike and Lucy were estranged after her rejected confession in A Distance Apart.[7] The AU keeps the Sandy triangle but swaps the temperaments: this Lucy is the obsessive, self-destructive one, and this Mike is a patient saint who won't cross the line.[6]
- Abbey and Daisy: Canon Abbey is Daisy's gentle defender, whose great fear is becoming his abusive father.[8] The AU hands him that exact role. His "protection" is stalking and violence, and Daisy, disturbingly, stays grateful for it.[5]
Trivia & observations
- Veronica has confirmed on Tumblr that while some BCI comics are canon, this one is strictly a "what if" scenario.[9]
- Veronica also cites this as the only place Lucy is ever depicted cutting herself, calling it "so very unofficial."[10]
- In the main comic, Molly is alive and well as Abbey's little sister.[11]
